Skillslive Working in the Child Protection Space

"Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future." - John F. Kennedy

For any organisation that deals with children, their protection must be the utmost priority. Nothing precedes this. And within this immutable and indispensible objective, the implementation of policy, procedure and record-keeping are a vital part. These things are the providers of consistency, predictability, oversight and management for the organisation; without them, we are flying blind, running entirely on trust.

Yet, while any such organisation will have an appreciation for the necessity of procedure and record keeping, what happens when this is not an enabler but a hindrance? What of those occasions when the creation or retrieval of records is onerous or even prohibitive? What if a policy or procedure actually prevented the protection of a child? If you consider - for example - the deployment of staff and volunteers to a disaster-affected area, in combination with a dated, paper-based and labour-intensive system that could - quite literally - hold up or completely obviate the contribution of staff and volunteers, it’s not so difficult to imagine the potential for such a scenario.

For this very reason, Skillslive is delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to the child protection space. Skillslive will implement the skills, knowledge and experience of its staff in the development of workflows and digital deployments that free staff and volunteers with rapid, worry-free onboarding and empower administrative staff with records as well as big data and analytics at their fingertips.

The Skillslive / DEEP collaborative project in Child Protection is still in the very early stages, however the organisation is aiming for rapid deployment in the interest of its partner organisations’ objectives to realise the benefits of digital on-boarding from the earliest possible date. In other words, watch this space as we challenge industry and society norms!
